Pastor John Richards was born and reared in Los Angeles, California. As a high school senior, John was introduced to a high school youth group where he came to faith in Jesus Christ. John spent most of his adult life in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he met the love of his live, Kathy. John has served in pastoral positions in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania. In August 2022, John retired after 13 years as an Army Reserve Chaplain, with 39 total years of service in the Regular Army, National Guard, and Reserve.
John loves reading, jogging, and sight-seeing. John and Kathy especially enjoy zoos and botanical gardens. He loves reading Scripture and sharing the transforming truth of the Gospel (Ephesians 2:8-10). John believes the most important things he should teach Christians are the providence of God (Romans 8:28-29) and the necessity of discipleship (John 8:31-32).
